Blog automation and analysis of competitors' content (Manchester)
In my previous articles about digital marketing in Manchester, I have mentioned that the result often comes in connection with different marketing techniques in Manchester and tools being combined. In this marketing example, this is the case.
By combining a couple of different services/software that are free on Google, we can start running an automated blog with a niche topic in Manchester.
What is needed to be able to put this into practice is:
-
Google Alerts
-
Gmail
-
Blogger
-
Wordpress
-
Feed Burner
-
Social Media
-
Start by creating a new Google account.
-
After that, you go to Google alerts and create coverage on the topic you are interested in. Choose to receive alerts in all languages as soon as something new is published on Google.
-
When it's ready, you go to Blogger and create a Blog. In Blogger's settings, you activate "publish content by email". Enter an email address in Blogger's settings. Copy the email address.
-
Go to your Gmail. Go to settings and choose to forward incoming email to the email address you created in the Blogger settings. Enable Gmail email forwarding and click save at the bottom of the settings page.
-
Go to your Blogger web page, drag the widget that has rss/feed function into your blog's layout. And save the page/publish the blog page.
-
Copy your blog's rss/feed url.
-
Go to FeedBurner and create a feed - paste your blog's feed there.
-
Add your blog url on Google Search Console and on Bing Webmaster tools as well as your blog sitemap.
-
Go to WordPress.
-
Create a free Wordpress website.
-
Go to Settings in Wordpress and choose to publish via e-mail.
-
Enter an email address in Wordpress settings that you want to use.
-
Click Save and publish your wordpress website.
-
Go to Gmail settings.
-
Choose to forward e-mail to the e-mail address that you entered in Wordpress settings to post via e-mail.
-
Verify email forwarding in Gmail.
-
Add the Wordpress page to the Google search console including the Wordpress website's sitemap.
-
Share your Blog link on social media, share your Wordpress on social media.
Done!
If you've set everything up correctly, the following will happen:
As soon as any new niche-related content is published on Google, you will receive a notification sent to your Gmail, a notification showing part of the content. This will be automatically sent to your Blog and Wordpress website and published automatically. Feedburner will get an indication of that and create a feed that connects to your blog. Likewise, Google Search Console will notice that your sitemaps have changed and will therefore crawl your blog and possibly index the new content that has been published automatically via Google Alerts.
This marketing technique is comparable to sharing content, which is completely legitimate to do. However, I do not recommend changing anything in the notifications that Google Alerts sends you and which are then published in your blog and on Wordpress. Do not change the original information.
I also recommend that you read the terms and conditions of the software used in this marketing technique, follow the terms and conditions and comply with the regulations. Be observant of changes to the terms and conditions that may come later sometimes and then usually via informative e-mail.
So through this marketing technique, for example, you can be informed about when competitors post new content on Google. The keyword or keyword combinations you enter in Google Alerts reflect upcoming notifications. For example, if you are interested in healthcare, you enter the word healthcare in Google Alerts.
This marketing technique is relatively old and is sometimes used in conjunction with blog posts in Manchester that are handwritten by the blog owner.
You thus combine automation with manual publishing. The purpose of using the marketing technique in Manchester can be different based on the objective.
I know that Blogger offers its best quality publishers to use Adsense on their blog page and through this create the opportunity to earn money on their blog by showing ads from the Adsense system.
The process around this should be simple and it is possible to quickly activate the Adsense system. Again, read the terms and conditions before you start using the system, and before you start combining the marketing techniques above with Adsense. It may very well be that Adsense does not approve the above marketing technique and in such case access to Adsense is not granted.
Read first and act later (always!).
There are of course other systems than Adsense that are similar. The marketing technique above can be used to generate traffic and to drive traffic, it can be used to get clicks on ads, it can be used to be informed when competitors publish new content on Google, it can be used to improve SEO.
Of course, you can scale up the marketing technique that I wrote about above, i.e. create several accounts with several blogs within the framework of a niche topic and interest. In such a case, the result increases quadratically.
